Welcome to the Srinivasa Ramanujan Foundation

The Srinivasa Ramanujan Foundation operates since 10 years in Mauritius, offering a platform for Mauritians to showcase their hidden talents.

The objective of the competition is to foster mathematical aptitude among the younger generation in Mauritius. Named after the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, this challenge inspires participants to explore the beauty of mathematics and test their abilities at a national level.

Objectives of the Challenge

To promote mathematical thinking among participants.

To encourage out-of-the-box problem-solving.

To identify and nurture young mathematical talents.

To build confidence and prepare participants for future challenges.

What is the Srinivasa Ramanujam Maths Challenge?

The Srinivasa Ramanujan Maths Challenge is a national-level mathematics competition designed to enhance participants’ logical reasoning, problem-solving, and analytical skills. It is open to participants from 17 to 32 years old and encourages them to apply math beyond textbooks. The competition also honors the legacy of Ramanujan, who made extraordinary contributions to number theory and mathematical analysis.

Ramanujam National Maths Challenge Exam Format

Srinivasa Ramanujan (1887–1920) stands among the most extraordinary mathematical minds in history. Largely self-taught and working in isolation during his early years, he developed groundbreaking ideas that would later reshape entire fields of mathematics.

With an intuitive and unconventional approach, Ramanujan made profound contributions to number theory, mathematical analysis, infinite series, and continued fractions. His work was not only innovative but often far ahead of its time—introducing concepts such as the Ramanujan prime, the Ramanujan theta function, and remarkable results on continued fractions and infinite series, which continue to influence modern mathematical research.

“The competition also honors the legacy of Ramanujan, who made extraordinary contributions to number theory and mathematical analysis.”
